New Years Day Adventures!

Year after year I feel that I am often let down or disappointed by New Years Eve parties so I instead took it easy this year. Forwent the champagne this year to celebrate quietly with loved ones (barely made it to midnight) and woke up early with the hopes of hiking to the top of Mt. Tam in Marin. Unfortunately about half the Bay seemed to have the same idea and by the time I got to Muir Woods all the permits and parking was sold out. Not to be deterred I headed over to Stinson Beach on the other side of the mountain for a beautiful day of seafood, and beach combing. The day was the clearest I have ever seen at Stinson Beach. You could see all the way to the Farallon Islands. I stopped for a quick lunch of clam chowder and crab cakes at the Parkside Cafe (not pictured because I absolutely demolished them in seconds), then headed down to the beach for the rest of the day. I found the most perfect palm sized smooth ocean stone which for a rockhound like myself felt extremely lucky. Watched some rock climbers bouldering on the beach, and took a nap on a perfect shaped rock. Then headed home full, wind swept, and full of excitement for the new year. I hope your new started off as well, relaxing but exciting for what's to come!
